Oh, If We Could All Be So Brave....

I'm not sure how Sam knew that it was Testimony Meeting today, but as soon as we got to the chapel he said he wanted to go up. Now for any of you that know him, he isn't a real crowd lover. This would be his second time to go up. The first time, I missed, because I was feeding Max. Well, not to be out done by her brother, Evelyn said she wanted to go up too. Mind you, there was no coaxing on our parts. Rick took them both up as soon as the counselor in the Bishopric sat down. They weren't first, another family beat them to the punch. Sam went first and he froze. Poor guy! He really wanted to do it, but was just too scared. He and Rick sat down (on the stand) and Evelyn went up. She bore a sweet testimony without any help from dad. What a birthday present! It brought tears to my eyes. Sam tried one more time, but just couldn't do it. He tried and that's what matters. Why is it hard for us to bare our testimonies? I am speaking mainly of myself, maybe it isn't hard for the rest of you. Maybe it would be easier if I know when I got up there I could relay what I was feeling through my words and not my tears. We are brothers and sisters in the gospel working toward the same goal, it shouldn't be so hard. But it is. I believe in the gospel and am so grateful that I have an elder brother who was willing to pay the ultimate price for my sins with his life. I found this and thought I would share.

I hope that you are all looking forward to General Conference this weekend and the spirit that it brings, I know I am. To have a living Prophet on the earth is an amazing thing. Let us each carry a testimony in our hearts, that we might have the opportunity to share it.

Oh Happy Day...

I a mere matter of minutes, I will be leaving (sans children) to go and have sushi! My love affair with the stuff began last year @ this time. Just a reminder of how quickly time flies. I think I would like to take a hot air balloon ride with my sister. Anyone else game?

Fabulous...

Last night I gave Evelyn a haircut. Trimmed her ends and then decided to add some layers. Well when we were all done, I took the cape off and she shook her head and said, "Don't I look fabulous!" lol! Just thought you all might need a laugh to start your day. When I get a picture of said fabulous haircut, I will post it.

Motivation...

What motivates you? As defined my Wikipedia, motivation is the reason or reasons for engaging in a particular behavior,...These reasons may include basic needs such as food or a desired object, hobbies, goal, state of being, or ideal. I didn't think I wanted to delve into the world of blogging, but here I am. My motivation was when Brittani mentioned there was a place to have your blog printed at the end of a year. I am not a good journal keeper, in fact, I'm not a journal keeper at all. I am a good scrapbooker. I feel that the lives of my children have been pretty well documented up till now. I on the other hand, am non- existent. Rick is always saying we need to take pictures with me in them, but I am usually the one holding the camera. I like to avoid photo ops. Why don't I want my picture taken... that's a whole other thing. It has to do with motivation... I need to lose 30 lbs. and haven't found the motivation to do it. So tell me what drives you to do what you do? It's easy to do things we like, but what about the hard things? I have tried hard in different ares of my life to make improvements this year. I started a scrapbook for myself, it may take 50 years to fill it, but I did it. I made of list of goals for myself and made it into a scrapbook page, there to remind me in print what I wanted to do this year. Maybe I need to look at it more often to remind myself. One of my goals was to potty train Sam. There again is that motivation word. He has none, so what am I to do? lol!

How Crazy Came to Be...

In our house you have to earn the title of "Crazy". All families have funny names for their kids right? Beside "Crazy", each of our kids has several nicknames. Being called a "Crazy" means you aren't a baby anymore. You have discovered your voice and more appropriately, your attitude! Max hasn't been a crazy long, but he is definitely making up for lost time. He is much more like his sister, then his brother. Sam was a slug! He was a go with the flow, do whatever baby. Evelyn came out kicking. lol! Max started out like Sam, but is now following in his sisters footsteps (Well if he would walk they would be footsteps. Is it ok to call them kneesteps?) So welcome to the blog of "Crazies"... Be careful you don't stay too long or might be a little "Crazy" too!
