Try as I did, these aren't in the order they started in. Sorry!

In a Nutshell...
I realize that I am REALLY behind on things, but the last couple months have been crazy around here. So here you go, in a nutshell...
We got on offer on our West Jordan house 14 November. We countered 16 November and they accepted. We went looking that night and made on offer on our new house the next morning. We heard back the end of that week that our offer had been accepted. Now mind you, the offer on our West Jordan house had us closing 3 weeks after the offer was accepted and we already had a trip to California planned for Thanksgiving. Did you catch all that?
The chaos began... we ordered a moving pod, that was delivered 21 November, and Rick and his friend Jason started loading Monday the 23rd. We left for California the 25th and had planned on coming home the 30th, but decided we needed to come home the 29th so that Rick would have Monday the 30th to load. The morning of the 29th, when Rick was loading the truck to head home, he threw his back out. I found him laying on my parents driveway. Not a good week to have his back go out. My dad and brother gave him a priesthood blessing and he healed so much quicker then he has in the past. As we headed out, I called Rick's dad and asked if he could come over the next day and help load. He was there all day, we worked him to the bone! We filled the first pod, had it taken away and another delivered.
On the day of closing, 7 December, we just had cleaning and all the random basement/garage odds and ends. Closing on the West Jordan house was at 9 a.m. All we needed was our ID's. It took no time at all to get everything signed and then the title company lady (TCL) needed to copy our ID's, I pulled mine out, but Rick's isn't in his wallet! We had no idea where it could be. We raced back to the house, but it is no where to be found. We didn't know if it was lost or if it was packed. So I started cleaning and he headed to the DMV to get a new drivers license. As we were signing, the TCL said the buyers were trying to close and fund all in the same day. I thought we would have 24 hours after we signed before we had to be out. I was kind of freaking out. Rick thought we could be done in an hour... which hour he was thinking, I'll never know! My friend MaryAnnie came over and helped me clean, Rick got back from the DMV and we kept at it. I got a call around 3:30 p.m. from our agent saying that it had funded. I felt like we were getting kicked out of our house! She said to call when we were done and she would call the buyers agent to let them know we were finished. It wasn't like I wanted to linger forever, but we had lived in that house for 10 years. It was our first house, all of our babies came home to that house. It was weird to be leaving, seeing it empty...
I called our agent at 5:20 p.m. and told her we were finished. Both the car and truck were loaded to the gills. The vacuum was hanging out of the back of the truck, we looked like the Clampett's! At this point we still didn't know when we would be closing on the Saratoga Springs house, the appraisal hadn't come back yet, so we went to Rick's parents for a few days.
We ended up closing on the Saratoga Springs house 9 December and got the keys late on the 10th. The kids and I headed down late that afternoon. When we got here, the house was FREEZING! The heat wasn't working, so I knew we couldn't stay here. I unloaded a few things and packed a small bag for the night and we headed back to Grammy and Grandpa's. As we were leaving, I went into the half bath to get a tissue for Max and discovered that the water in the toilet bowl was frozen. Not what we wanted...
Rick called as we were leaving and I told him what the deal was. He left work and met us in the Walmart parking lot to get the key so he could go and figure things out... As we were headed to met him the truck registered at 5 degrees outside! All the toilets were frozen, not just the bowl on our toilet, but the whole tank (it's on an outside wall) and the showers/tubs weren't working. His dad came down to help him and they managed to get everything up and running by very late that night. The breaker for the heater had tripped and the hot water heater had been turned off. Crisis averted and no broken pipes! We were so blessed. The kids and I headed back down the next day, so our first official night at our house was 11 December. The last 6 weeks have been a blur of unpacking, Christmas, New Year's and sickness. I keep hoping we will settle into some kind of routine...
We love our new house and the kids have already made some new friends. There are lots of boys in our ward, which we were so hoping for. It seems like Rick leaves later for work living here then in West Jordan. Distance wise, I think we are a little farther away, but the commute is shorter for him. I have discovered the back way to get to Lehi/American Fork where all the shopping is. My good friend from California lives in Lehi and we have seen each other a bunch since the move.
We have been truly blessed and are so grateful for all the love and support from our family and friends.
p.s. Rick's ID was found later in his dad's truck...

I'm here...
I'm here, I'm alive, but really tired of throw up. Thank goodness the washer and dryer got hooked up on Monday. I've done 20 loads since Monday night. I'm not sure how many of those where throw up loads, but pretty sure there were more then there should have been. Evelyn threw up on Christmas day, but made it to the bathroom every time. Max was at least nice enough to wait until the washer and dryer were up and running. I thought we had it all behind us, but he did it again tonight when I brushed his teeth. I'm hoping it was just the Heath gag reflex kicking in. I'm not sure sure how much more of it I can take. I've been lucky to never have a 2 year old throw up before. The other 2 waited until they were older. Sorry this post is going in a not so lovely direction. I'm tired and tired of throw up, have I mentioned that?
The house is great, all appliances are up and running. We are now just waiting on the couch. It was good not to have a couch in the family room on Monday night when I sorted the laundry. There were mounds of it everywhere. When I'm thinking more clearly, I'll make a list of the posts that need to be posted and get on it.

She's Doing The Thing She Thought She Couldn't Do
Amy is still without the Internet, or without her computer as she puts it, until next week. So here I am again, hijacking her blog!
On the appliance front it's down to the oven/stove and washer and dryer that they are living without. The washer and dryer are at the house but they are waiting for the "gas guy" to come and put the gas line in for both of those. Her laundry is getting to "red" or whatever the highest terrorist level is these days. That's where it's at. On the other hand she is getting pretty savvy with her cooking abilities. We all know she was savvy with those to begin with but now it's getting to a new level!
The kids are surviving but anxious to get back into some kind of a routine. She's got Evelyn making grocery lists, Sam is living it up wearing sweatpants (no clean jeans) and Max is cutting her hair. That's no joke, you read that right. They are a hair cutting family, after all. So it should come as no surprise. They start the training early. Amy was working on putting a desk together when he got a hold of some sheers and saw his mother badly in need of some texturizing and, well, took matters into his own hands. When she went to inspect she couldn't find the spot he cut, he must of done a bang up job then. That's what I say!
So that's them in a nutshell. Oh, and don't email her as her email doesn't seem to let her access that anymore. Believe me, I've tried hijacking that too.
Peace Out. K.

A Little Bit of Blog Hijacking
I've never hijacked anything before. I think hijacking your sister's blog is the way to go.
Kimberly here, Amy's favorite sister. I've taken over her blog for the moment. Because I can, because I'm her favorite sister and because, well, she's busy.
Very busy, in fact. The week before Thanksgiving they up and sold their house and then up and bought a new one. Things have been a bit crazy since then and her poor children fall asleep whenever they get in the car to go anywhere. I'm only half kidding about that one.
We are so excited for this big and new adventure for them. It has all happened so fast and is slightly overwhelming. As I'm sure you can imagine. For now they are without a washer and dryer, a computer (well they still have a computer but no desk to put it on and nothing that will connect it with the world), a microwave, an oven, a dishwasher and up until yesterday a fridge. But things are slowly coming together and I'm quite sure (if she does what I tell her to, which is sometimes) she is taking lots and lots of pictures. So hopefully soon she will fill us in on everything new and fun.
In the meantime I might have to try hijacking this bad boy again. It's quite fun. I highly recommend it.
See? Look! They are alive and well. And so excited they can't even open their eyes.
He belongs to this blog. He drives his mother crazy but you have to admit, he is dang cute!

Thought....
"Work is an antidote for anxiety, an ointment for sorrow, and a doorway to possibility. Whatever our circumstances in life, let us do the best we can and cultivate a reputation for excellence in all that we do. Let us set our minds and bodies to the glorious opportunity for work that each new day presents." ~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf~

Black Cat...
Rick has a cold and was snoring up a storm last night, so I ended up on the couch. This morning Evelyn and Sam came out to greet me. Sam wanted to snuggle with me and Evelyn stood at the side of the couch and held my hand. It was actually very nice. Apparently there has been a black cat hanging around outside our house. Evelyn looked out the window this morning and said, "That black cat is still in the neighbors tree, I wonder where he came from." To which Sam replied, "I think he fell off of a witches broom." (true story, I do not lie.)
